ABOUT SORAFNAT?
- SORAFNAT is used to treat liver, thyroid gland cancer, kidney cancer inadvanced stage, when the standard therapy wasn’t effective.
- SORAFNAT’ s mechanism of action is to slow
down the growth of cancer cells and interruptions of the blood supply that
keeps growing cancer cells.
- SORAFNAT is not indicated to use in the pediatric
population.
WHAT ARE WARNING AND RECOMMENDATIONS?
- Skin problems
- High blood pressure
- Bleeding problems or take warfarin or
phenprocoumon
- Chest pain or heart problems
- Heart disorders
- If you need to have surgery or have
recently been operated
- Receive a drug irinotecan or docetaxel
- If you are taking neomycin or another
antibiotic.
- Severe damage to your liver function.
- Kkidney disorder
- Gastrointestinal perforation
THE INTERACTION WITH OTHER DRUGS?
- Rifampicin, neomycin
- Phenytoin, carbamazepine or phenobarbital,
epilepsy
- Dexamethasone,
- Warfarin used to prevent the blood clots
forming
- Doxorubicin, capecitabine, docetaxel,
paclitaxel, and irinotecan
- Digoxin.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- If you are pregnant your doctor will decide
whether to continue therapy.
- Do not SORAFNT during lactation.
- Vehicle handling and machine handling
- SORAFNAT doesn’t affect the ability to drive or use machines.
HOW TO USE SORAFNAT?
- The recommended dose of SORAFNAT is 800 mg daily, swallowed whole with
sufficient amounts of water, at about the same time each day.
YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS LIKE:
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Pain (including pain in the mouth,
abdominal pain, headache, bone pain, pain caused by the tumor)
- Hair loss
- Red or painful palms or soles
- Itching or rash
- Vomiting
- Bleeding
- High blood pressure
- Infections
- Anorexia
- Constipation
- Pain in the joints
- Fever
- Dry throat
- A flu-like syndrome
- Difficulty digesting and swallowing
- Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the
