Why are you prescribed SLIMTOP capsule? 

  - SLIMTOP capsule is used to lose weight in adults over 18 with overweight, with a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or higher.

  - The BMI is a way to know if you have a healthy weight or if you are overweight considering your height

  - SLIMTOP capsule should be used in combination with a diet low in calories and fat.

  - Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should not use this medication.

How SLIMTOP capsule works?

  - The active substance in SLIMTOP capsule (orlistat) is designed to target fat in your digestive system. This fat will be removed from your body in the stool.

  - Therefore, it is important that you follow a diet low in calories and fat to control those effects.

What you need to know before you start taking SLIMTOP capsule

  - Do not take SLIMTOP capsule if you are:

o         -  Regnant or breastfeeding.

o  taking cyclosporine

o   using therapy for rheumatoid arthritis

o   taking warfarin

o   if you have cholestasis

o   if you have problems with absorption of food 

Warnings and precautions:

Inform your doctor or pharmacist before you start taking SLIMTOP capsule in cases that you suffer from:

o   diabetes

o   kidney disease. 

The use of  multivitamin and SLIMTOP capsule:

It is recommended to take a multivitamin complex every day.

The multivitamin complex should contain vitamins A, D, E and K and you should take it before you sleep. 

Tell  your doctor or pharmacist before taking SLIMTOP capsule if you are taking :

o   Amiodarone, used for heart rhythm problems.

o   Acarbose (an antidiabetes medicine used to treat diabetes mellitus type 2

o   levothyroxine

o   Medication for epilepsy,

o   Medications to treat HIV.

o   Medications for depression, psychiatric disorders or anxiety.

·         If you are taking any medicine for high blood pressure

·         If you are taking any medication for high cholesterol

·         SLIMTOP capsule is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

HOW IS SLIMTOP USED?

Adults over 18 years or older:

Take one capsule, three times a day.

Take SLIMTOP capsule just before, during or until an hour after meals.

If a meal is skipped, or if your food contains no fat, do not take a capsule.

SLIMTOP capsule does not work unless the food contains some fat.

Swallow the whole capsule with water.

Do not take more than three capsules a day.

For how long should Beacita be taken:

SLIMTOP  capsule should not be taken for more than 6 months.

If you do not lose weight after taking SLIMTOP capsule for 12 weeks, check with your physician.

WHAT ARE SIDE EFFECTS?

·         Rectal bleeding.

·         Diverticulitis (inflammation of the large intestine). Symptoms include pain in the lower stomach (abdominal), especially on the left side, possibly with fever and constipation.

·         Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). Symptoms may include severe abdominal pain, sometimes radiating to the back, possibly with fever, nausea, and vomiting.

·         Blisters on the skin (including blisters that explode).

·         Intense stomach pain caused by stones in the bladder

·         Hepatitis (inflammation of the liver). Symptoms may include yellow skin and eyes, itching, dark colored urine, stomach pain  in

·         Oxalate nephropathy can lead to kidney stones)

·         Gases (flatulence) with or without oily spots.

·         Oily or fatty deposits.

·         Soft stools
