WHAT IS FERTIGYN
- FERTIGYN contains the active substance chorionic gonadotropin belonging to a group of medicines called gonadotropins (full hormones). Controls the release of an ovum from the ovaries in women and controls the production of testosterone in men.
FERTIGYN is used:
In women:
- Induction of ovulation
- In assisted reproduction
- Hypogonadotropic
- Delayed puberty
- Cryptorchism
- untreated testicles
BEFORE TAKING FERTIGYN YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE IT IF YOU HAVE:
- Hormone-dependent tumor of the breast, ovary, uterus, testicle, prostate, hypophysis or hypothalamus
- If you are a woman and have a disorder of full organs that are incompatible with pregnancy
- If you are a woman and you have a fibroid of the uterus that is incompatible with pregnancy
- Aabnormal or unexpected vaginal
- Ovarian cysts on the ovaries or enlargement of the ovary
- The probability of developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
- Therapy with gonadotropic hormones may cause hyperstimulation syndrome ovarian (OHSS).
- This is a difficult medical condition in which the ovaries are overstimulated and the development of follicles is bigger than normal. In rare cases, severe OHSS can endanger life.
- Therefore, careful supervision OHSS leads to sudden accumulation of fluid in the abdomen and chest area and can cause creating blood clots.
Immediately contact your doctor if you have:
- Severe abdominal islet and pain in the abdominal area
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- The sudden increase of the body mass due to fluid accumulation
- Diarrhea
- Reduced urine output
- Difficulty breathing
THE FERTIGYN APPLICATION?
- In women, one injection is usually given to induce ovulation, and at most three injections for support the luteal phase that follows.
- Men are given injections several times a week for weeks or months depending on the problem. The treatment with FERTIGYN should last at least three months to achieve the expected improvement.
WHAT ARE KNOWN SIDE EFFECTS?
General:
- Immune system disorders
- Rash or fever
- Local reactions at the site of application (bruise, pain, redness, islet or itching) may occur.
- Vascular disorders
- Respiratory disorders
- Gastrointestinal disorders such as vomiting and diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity), as a complication
- Disorders of the reproductive system and breast
- Unwanted hyperstimulation of the ovary, mild or severe hyperstimulation ovary syndrome.
- Painful breasts, mild ovarian enlargement, cysts on the ovaries
- Big cysts on ovary prone to rupture (severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome).
- Disturbances of metabolism and nutrition After administration of high doses, water and sodium retention has been recorded, this is considered as a consequence of elevated production of androgens (male full hormones).
- Disorders of the reproductive system and breast
- HCG therapy can cause gynecomastia (breast augmentation in men).
