ABOUT LOPIMUNE?
- LOPIMUNE is intended for the treatment of
adults and children older than 2 years who are infected with HIV so that it
works by slowing the spread of infection in an organism.
WHAT
DO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE LOPIMUNE?
- Have severe liver damage
- Are taking one of the following medicines at the same time:
- Astemizole or terfenadine
- Oral midazolam, triazolam
- Pimozide
- Cisapride
- Ergotamine, dihydroergotamine,
- Amiodarone
- Lovastatin, simvastatin (medicines for
lowering cholesterol levels);
- Alfuzosin - used in men with symptoms of
enlargement of the prostate
- Colchicine
- Vardenafil
- Sildenafil
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION:
- LOPIMUNE does not reduce the risk of HIV
transmission to other people.
Appropriate precautions should be applied in
order to prevent the transmission of infection to other people.
YOU
SHOULD CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR OR HAVE:
- Diabetes,
- Liver disorder, including chronic hepatitis
B or C
THE
USE WITH OTHER DRUGS?
Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the
following medicines,
- Antibiotics (, clarithromycin);
- Anti-cancer drugs (vincristine,
vinblastine);
- Anticoagulants- warfarin,
- Antidepressants
- Anti-fungal drugs
- Drugs in gout therapy
- Drugs for the treatment of chronic
hepatitis C -
- Drugs for erectile dysfunction
- medicines for heart rhythm disorders
- Medicines for lowering cholesterol in the
blood
- Drugs in the treatment of pulmonary
arterial hypertension
- Drugs for smoking cessation (eg bupropion);
- Morphine-like drugs
- Sedatives medicines
- Steroids
The
Application of LOPIMUNE medication
during pregnancy and lactation?
- The use of LOPIMUNE during pregnancy and
lactation is not recommended.
- Women infected with HIV are not recommended for breastfeeding. The possible influence of LOPIMUNE on the ability to drive vehicles and machines was not specifically investigated
HOW
IS LOPIMUNE PRESCRIBED?
- The usual adult dose is 800mg/200 mg once a day, taken in two intervals during a day( morning and evening)
- LOPIMUNE is present in the strength of 100 mg
/ 25 mg
- The appropriate dose (number of tablets) for
children will be determined by the doctor based on the height and weight of the
child.
WHAT
ARE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
- Nausea;
- Vomiting,
abdominal pain, lower and upper abdominal pain, gases, digestive
disorders,
- Inflammation of the stomach, intestines,
and colon;
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes, weight loss;
- Rash, eczema, swelling of the skin;
- Dizziness, anxiety, sleep disorders;
- Fatigue
- Hemorrhoids;
- Inflammation of the liver,
- Changes in the shape of the body or shape
of the
- Infection of the lower respiratory tract
- Enlargement of the lymph nodes;
- Impotence, painful or prolonged menstrual
bleeding or lack of menstruation;
- Muscle disorders,
- Damage to the nerves of the peripheral
nervous system;
- Night sweats, itching, rash, including skin
dandruff, skin infections
- Heart disorder
- Inflammation of blood vessels and
capillaries
- Uncontrollable trembling of the body
- Constipation
- Dry mouth
- Presence of red blood cells in the urine
- Fatty deposits in the liver, enlarged liver
- Loss of testicular function
- Reduced sexual drive,
- Kidney inflammation
