ABOUT CYTOTAM
- CYTOTAM medicine belongs to a group of
medicines called "antiestrogens".
- Estrogen is a natural substance in your body,
known as a full hormone. CYTOTAM works by doing soblocks its effects.
- CYTOTAM is used to treat breast cancer.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING THE TREATMENT?
Do not use CYTOTAM:
- If you are pregnant
- If you have had blood clots in the past and
your doctor did not know what they were caused).
- If someone in your family had clots of an
unknown cause.
- If your doctor told you that you have a
family illness that increases the risk of blood clots.
When taking CYTOTAM, take special care:
- The simultaneouse use with the following
drugs should be avoided, due to the
reduction in the effect of CYTOTAM:
- Paroxetine, fluoxetine, bupropion, quinidine
and cinacalcet
Preparation for a surgery intervention:
HOW TO USE CYTOTAM ?
- If you take more CYTOTAM than you should immediately
contact your doctor or the nearest health facility.
- If you forget to take a drug, take the next
dose at the time prescribed for this.
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a
missed dose.
WHAT ARE KNOWN SIDE EFFECTS?
If you
notice any of the following unwanted symptoms,
you should stop taking CYTOTAM and contact your doctor immediately:
- Abrupt weakness or paralysis of the arm or
leg, suddenly difficult speech and stroke,
- Difficulty in breathing
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or
throat, which can cause difficulty swallowing.
- Swelling of the hands, feet or article
- Unusual vaginal bleeding.
- A feeling of discomfort in the lower
abdomen (pelvis), e.g. pain or pressure.
Other possible side effects:
· Stomach and intestines: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation
· Nervous system: Headache, tenderness, changes in sensory
· Reproductive system: Genital herpes, vaginal bleeding or secretion, ovarian cysts
· Skin and hair: Flushing, rash, itching or peeling of skin, hair loss, inflammation of the skin
· Musculoskeletal: Legs in the legs, muscle pain.
· Lungs: pulmonary inflammation with shortness of breath and cough
· Eyes: cataracts, eye disorders, including blindness
· Blood: Some side effects are seen only by blood analysis, such as a decrease in the number of some blood cells. This can leads to easier bruising, serious infections or severe fatigue and loss of breath. There is an increased risk of formation of blood clots (including clots in small blood vessels)
· Liver: a jaundice, which may cause yellow skin and throat drying. These diseases include inflammation of the liver, cirrhosis, damage to the liver cells, formation of fatty liver cells, reduced production of bile and hepatic insufficiency. Symptoms include a feeling of general weakness, with or without jaundice (yellow skin and throat drying).
